Wireless Internet Agreement

• All persons accessing the Internet using the Wireless Services must comply with the Internet Usage Agreement. Users shall not violate Federal, New Jersey State, local laws or Ocean County College Policy including the transmission or receiving of harmful material, fraud, or downloading copyright material.
• Access points to the Internet are provided by Ocean County College free of charge to patrons with appropriate computers receiving the signal provided (802.11b/g).
• Printer capability is not available via this College Campus "Hot Spot" wireless connection.
• As with any Internet connection, the College maintains no responsibility for the security of any personal information or communication.
• For your own protection, do not leave equipment unattended at any time. The use of personal equipment is the sole responsibility of the individual and the College assumes no liability for damages or theft.

Internet Usage Agreement: Ocean County College offers Internet resources access to all faculty, staff and students.
The Internet is an unregulated medium. It offers access to a wealth of material that is personally, professionally, and culturally enriching to individuals of all ages, but it also enables access to some materials that may be offensive and/or illegal. Individual users must accept responsibility for determining the suitability of content for themselves. In addition, users must respect the legal protections to data and software provided by copyright and licensing laws. Users may not represent themselves as another person nor use Internet access to transmit obscene, threatening, or harassing materials.

• Because computers are located in a public area, what you view is not private. Please be considerate of other users and refrain from displaying materials that might reasonably be considered objectionable. In accordance with New Jersey State Statutes, displaying obscene materials to minors or printing such materials may be a violation of the law and could result in penalties up to and including imprisonment.

Users of the Ocean County College Wireless Access point(s) may not send, receive (by e-mail, chat rooms or other means), print or display any pornography whether text or graphics, that is legally defined under Federal Law Title 18, Chapter 110, Section 2256 (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/search/display.html?terms=internet%20access&url=/uscode/html/uscode47/usc_sec_47_00000230----000-.html or New Jersey Statute 2C:24-4 (http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/legis/2001c291.pdf). Actions that violate College, local, state or federal law may result in prosecution by the appropriate authority.

Activation

You will be notified via an email to your Ocean Cruiser account when you have been setup for wireless access. This should be within two business days of our receipt of this form. This email will also include instructions on how to connect to the network. These instructions can also be found by clicking on “Wireless Access” on the main page of Ocean Cruiser. There will also be links to common wireless adapters where you can find additional help.
